IDC: PC shipments fell another 15% in the third quarter compared to Q2 last year
Earlier this year IDC reported that PC shipments for the second quarter of 2022 fell 15.3% compared to Q2 last year. Now the analysts have published preliminary results for the third quarter, which show that the industry suffered another 15% drop. The total number of shipments (direct to consumers plus shipments to distribution channels) added up to 74.3 million, a tick up from the 71.3 million shipped in Q2, but below the 80.5 million units shipped in Q1 (which represented a 5.1% decline year on year from Q1 2021).
