New Gallery Go app drops the “Go” name
As spotted by 9to5Google, the Gallery Go app appears to have dropped the “Go” part of its name with its new app icon. With version 1.8.8.436428459, the name of the app is just “Gallery” now. Via 9to5Google Gallery Go first launched in 2019 as a ‘Lite’ alternative to Google Photos for devices with limited hardware. As even budget devices catch up to have more RAM and CPU power, the demand for “Go” alternatives may have curbed a bit.
