Last year, Google decided to redesign the emoji roster for Android 8.0. This was the first time Android had completely redesigned its emojis since Android 4.4 KitKat "Gumdrop" or sometimes called "blob" shaped emojis were introduced. Google went for a rounder emojis to look more like Apple's more popular set but got rid of these other abnormally shaped ones for good, or so we thought. The blobs are back, baby!
