Apple to completely ditch Intel chips by 2020
Apple and Qualcomm might be entangled in lawsuits and jeopardizing their relations, but the Cupertino company is reportedly looking to drop Intel as a chip manufacturer as well. According to a source, Intel's development of a chip that combines modem, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth is halted, and the employees have switched to other projects. Intel executives said Apple was expected to be the key mobile customer of their new component.
