Digitimes: Tablet shipments reach new low in Q1, only 33 million units sold

Global shipments of tablets keep going down, according to a report by Digitimes Research. During the first quarter of 2018, only 33 million units were shipped. This is a 28.2% fall on a quarterly basis and 14.9% YoY. Analysts conclude that there are two main reasons for the massive drop - lack of stimulation from non-Apple manufacturers and clients adjusting inventory. Apple introduced the new iPad 9.7 (2018), but the high price is preventing it from shipping meaningful numbers.
