Samsung's Metal 12 magnesium alloy coming to phones and watches too
The Samsung Notebook 9 (2018) launched with a new material dubbed Metal 12. A trademark filing at EUIPO suggests that this magnesium allow will be used for phones, watches, mobile accessories and even home appliances. The new Notebook 9 weighs 1kg (2.2lbs), which puts this 13.3" laptop in the featherweight category. Much of this is attributed to the Metal 12. Samsung describes the material as "incredibly light, yet unbelievably strong".
