It’s no secret that the price of DRAM is at the lowest it has been for years, but it looks like that may be about to change. If a new report published by The Korea Herald is anything to go by, market analysts have predicted a surge in production in the DRAM market
that will likely kick in during the July-September period thanks to an
increase in demand for the component in the mobile industry. The market
boom will have an effect on the price of DRAM, which could potentially
drive it up to an all-time-high.
Samsung Electronics is one of the largest manufacturers of DRAM, and this boost in orders will secure it a spot at the top of the chain alongside competitor SK Hynix, which is also believed to benefit from the surge in requirement. Orders are expected to increase by as much as 36% when compared to 2015 thanks to the increasing DRAM capacity of high-end handsets, with some of the leading devices set to feature as much as 6GB of DRAM, which is up from the current standard of 4GB.
