#Acer unveils new TravelMate ultraportable series
Posted by: Unknown Posted date: 6:30:00 AM / comment : 0
The company just introduced the new family of laptops, with the ambassador being the TravelMate X349. It comes in a stylish black and all aluminum chassis, with a thickness of 18mm and total weight of just 1.53 kg - not exactly the lightest around, but still impressive. Acer has managed to fit a 14-inch FullHD IPS panel, that reclines all the way to an 180 degree angle. Also, a 6th generation Intel Core CPU (likely a selection from the available range) and up to 8GB of DDR4 RAM. For storage, there is up to 512GB worth of solid state space.
Other little extras include a backlit keyboard and touch fingerprint reader with support for Windows Hello fast sign into the bundled Windows 10 Pro OS. For connectivity, there is a USB Type-C port for things like charging, fast data transfers and even support for an Acer dock. Thankfully, however, Acer hasn't gone the MacBook way and there is still a standard set of ports, including things like USB 3.0, HDMI and a 3.5mm audio jack.
Acer says the TravelMate X349 will be available in North America starting this October with an asking price of $649.99 for the basic one. A September launch in Europe and the Middle East is also anticipated, where the unit will start at €480. And later, China should joint the list of markets as well with a staring price of CNY 5,999.
