Samsung has today taken the wraps of the latest addition to its rapidly-growing Galaxy J lineup in China. We first heard about this handset, which carries the moniker Galaxy J3 Pro, five days ago when it appeared in a batch of leaked press renders showcasing its design, and we quickly came to the conclusion that it’s a slightly beefier model of the entry-level Galaxy J3. The device will be available to purchase in either Gold or Gray when it launches in the region later this month through China Telecom for just 990 Yuan ($150). Unfortunately, a specific launch date has not been provided as of yet.
Enclosed in the Galaxy J3 Pro‘s aluminium casing is a 5-inch 720p Super AMOLED display, 2GB of RAM, 16GB of expandable internal storage, a 1.2GHz Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, an Adreno 306 GPU, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture, a 5-megapixel selfie snapper, dual-SIM compatibility and a 2,650mAh battery, which should last for around a day of intermediate use. The handset will run the latest build of Android 5.1.1 Lollipop out of the box skinned with Samsung’s TouchWiz user interface, but is expected to receive the Marshmallow upgrade over the course of the next few months.
